In 2004, at 46, Rod Steele became the most popular star in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) I originally intended to make a feature length documentary about Steeleman's success, I followed him around with a camera for months. Aron Stevens and I interviewed most of the OVW roster about Steeleman's in ring charisma, and real world wisdom. I cut this promo for the documentary in 2005. The feature length documentary was never finished, and I thought this video was lost forever when an external hard drive of mine was stolen. 'The Real Deal' Rod Steele passed away on August 4th 2011. A VHS copy of this video was found among his possessions.

  • ..

  • And still using the same gimmick and did my research on yalls friend. Funny thing is im also 6foot 7 280lbs. Even tho I didn't know him I pray that he is at peace now . Sorry for yalls loss

  • Id like to start by saying he sounds like a great guy and allot of people miss him. The weird thing about this is I also wrestled under the same name on the east coast started using the gimmick in 95 when a promoter changed my name at the last min because we were doing tv. I took time off in 2010 and got allot if phone calls around the time of his passing and asked if I was still alive well obviously if I answered the phone I am. Just got back in the biz this year
