  • Little sad interview, you have someone like John Gielgud, 95, and you are asking him "how do you enjoy being old" "do you think about death" "do you fear death". I lost my grandmum last summer, 99, she didn't need someone who could remembered her how old she was, and how many times she thought about her finish.

  • @Eudora74 I know hon its a really sad interview and rather cold of Paxman but then its Paxman he is always a bit of an arse. I loved Sir John Gielgud and was devastated when he died he is a true legend! Wow 99 thats really something. Thanks for your comments

  • John Gielgud was a true legend

  • @92af Agreed : )

  • This ponce interviewer should be waterboarded. What a prat. Sir John Gielgud was, right to the end of his life, a complete artist. Musical voice and honeyed tones aside, he was no-nonsense, extremely honest, and this "interview" comes off as age bashing at a minimum. I'm surprised Sir John didn't turn the tables on this rube.

  • @cheeriosinabowl He was also a CH and an OM!

  • 2005? He died in 2000!

  • I didn't know he was knighted.

  • As Sir John Gielgud died in 2000, I find the heading for this interview a TRIFLE mis-leading . . . .

  • @92af He certainly was - along with his friend Ralph Richardson and friendly -rival Laurence Olivier they were irreplaceable

  • @flyingdamingo Thank you to you for this video. An extraordinary actor of course, the kind of artist that marks a time, he was a milestone.
