Lucas Johnson is part of the New York City Student Union and they are organizing a counter-attack against student Metrocard cuts. With hearings coming up in March, the New York City Student Union is acting fast to get students' voices heard. When first term student Metrocard expire on Friday, February 5th, 2010, the New York City Student Union is asking all students to write their stories pertaining to how student Metrocard cuts will affect them (in permanent marker). Then on Monday, February 8th, 2010, schools will be collecting student Metrocards to be added to the stories from other schools. Some schools may already have this set up but the more students from a wider range of schools, the better! If your school has not already set this collection up, please ask your school officials to make announcements about this or take matters into your own hands and collect Metrocards from classmates.
