kung fu is kind of all about eyes and groin. you're fighting a big scary guy, jab him in the eyes and kick him in the balls throw him on the ground, kick him in the head. also open handed strikes. All of these are illegal in mma rules fighting ecept throwing. WC is not adapted to ring fighting. Kick boxing is built compleatly around ring fighting, so it makes sense that the wc guy is a little out of his element wc practitioner is low level and the kick boxer looks like he is in much better shape

it's so annoying to see "wing chun vs boxing" videos too. because a wingchun guy would get knocked the fuck out by a boxer

@ciogon yes Bruce Lee also learnt mainstream version of Wing Chun, which is a version that has built-in defeciences in it and which make it inherently weak and incomplete. Bruce Lee recognized those defeciences and thus supplemented some other things in it to fill in for those short-comings.

yeah, if the style is a real martial art. in my opion, real martial arts do sparring. otherwise, the never know anything bout fighting. most of wc schools just dont do that. there are even instructors, which never did real sparring. that's why the style is broken, and not the same, like it maybe used to be.

Its the style that sucks...thats why Bruce lee adapted wing chun and added kickboxing kicks and boxing punches..wing chun its to weak by itself...it was meant to be good 500 years ago maybe more..but for today..its just an old style of fighting...its to static..because of this you're to easy to be spoted when you move..I've practiced wing chun kickboxing and now im doing only boxing...and remember.the less moves the style has the better it is..cause it easy to learn it and understand it...

Its not that his wing chun is necessarily bad, its that he's trying to use it from a farther range than its meant to be used at

Wing chun Guy might need some Judo or Aikido techniques to save him there on the end. Some fights just end up with wrestling, making it hard to stick to one style.
