  • I posted your comments. Now I want you to go find all the videos of guys squatting who don't go ALL THE WAY down and point out that they are not being honest - with themselves!

  • I have actually done thousands of sets of heavy barbell squats over the years. Just because I post one video using a machine, people assume that's all I have used? LOL

  • I'm 42 and even though I am still pretty strong on a lot of lifts, there are also a few that are new just a fond memory!

  • Boja, most people only go to parallel and that's fine. I like to go down as far as possible, but not everyone has the structure and/or flexibility to do that.

  • Thanks - I usually d0 5 minutes on an elliptical trainer, then 3-4 sets of extensions before I squat. Sometimes I don't even squat until the very end of the workout. My quads are pretty much 'done.' Just took 2nd in the Heavyweights at NPC Team Universe, by the way. (IFBB Pro qualifier)

  • Yes, many past injuries to the back. Wraps weren't really necessary and I don't often use those. I've been training over 25 years so a belt is a must, my lower back is jacked up.

  • First let's get it straight...that's not 405 lbs. If you notice there is a cable connected to both sides of the bar...it's a contour balanced bar. The bar weighs somewhere btwn 20 - 0 lbs. Plus he has knee wraps, cuts each rep high...come on people, be honest when you post videos. Comments have to be approved by poster, I can see this comment won't be posted.

  • wen it comes to squatting for a rep out or benching id say squatting is much more muscle burning and tiring takes a lot of endurance more than benching id say squatting 225 for 50 reps wuld b harder thn benching 225 for 50 reps not that ur becnh is stronger but the legs burn wen squatting fer high reps

  • great conditioned legs and superbly strong :)

  • Great technique, smith machine head myself squat-150 k.g. 3 sets of 3 , incline press, shrugs 130 k.g . etc.

Also Lepress video is awesome too. Those that dis Ron and other smith machine users, see who has the arthritis in their 50's, or is still lifting at that age.

  • 405-45=360, still beast
