  • I'm sorry about your issues... I haven't had an issue with my 1986 production 686 no dash. It looks like pre-lock, pre-MIM Smiths are the way to go. I think you'll prefer your revolvers Hilary-hole free as well. I'd give a old S&W a chance before you go to a Ruger.

  • @icyaquarius86 thanks man. yeah pre-lock S&W revolvers are the way go...built like tanks.

  • My 686 plus has the same issue. Barrel misalignment. S&W does not get a second chance with me. Piss on them. My Rugers are built perfect and SP101 is a daily CCW. I wont buy another firearm from Smith & Wesson. The GP-100 aint as pretty but the damn thing is perfect.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES yeah I agree thanks for the comment

  • @MrCleanerNash it is a shame because my talo 686+ is beautiful. My barrel misalignment is nowhere near as bad as yours however. I really want the 629 performance center .44 mag snub, but Smith & Wesson is now a gamble on quality control.

  • Not sure WTF is going on at S&W, but I've been hearing a lot of this. My own limited experience with their customer service has been pretty ridiculously bad. I won't be buying any of their products until they get their shit together. I hope your issue gets resolved to your satisfaction eventually.

  • @MrCleanerNash People make way to big of a deal about the locking mechanism. Just because a couple people have had issues with it, there are hundreds of these revolvers sold daily and the majority are fine with no issues. Also, the entire locking mechanism can be removed in about 5 minutes.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI if its a post-lock version your lucky

  • Sucks that you had such bad luck with this revolver.. I bought a S&W 686 6 shot with a six inch barrel and after watching your video I inspected mine very closely and didn't have a single issue that you have. It's a sweet gun and I reccommend people give it a chance at least in the six inch version,

  • @manola187 well if you do must make sure you look it over with a microscope before you buy it lol.
