http://www.pwc.co.uk/england2018 - He might have cut the rap these days, but former England midfielder John Barnes showed his shooting boots remain finely tuned at a penalty shootout organised by the firm to support England's 2018 bid.
Hosted in London's Broadgate Circle, the event attracted hundreds of onlookers and participants, whose spirits weren't dampened by the early drizzle.
With the chance to win an iPad or Charity Shield tickets for anyone who scored all three of their penalties, competition was fierce.
Those who managed that feat took on Barnes himself in a series of sudden-death shootouts, in which he failed to score just once. While his musical efforts might not always have found the back of the net, his shots still do.
Speaking of England's 2018 bid, Barnes believes the tournament would be good for communities, good for business, good for visitors and good for the country.
"Business can show support for areas they have been in for many years, so there's corporate responsibility for local areas as well as the opportunity to generate lots of business for yourself -- it's a win-win situation.
"People need to understand the passion that is engendered in English football. Foreign players love it in England and a lot of them will be supporting the bid.
"This kind of event encourages people to come out and have fun -- and football is all about having fun.
"There's a real feel-good factor here today so imagine having that all across England. The whole country would just be buzzing".
