I hate to admit it, but Gunny really is. I don't like Glock much anymore. They are not the best for user accuracy. There's so many others that are better. The trigger kinda sucks and the grip isn't that great. But they are simplistic and incredibly dependable, trying not to sound bad but... Glocks are for dummies, which is perfect for lowest common denominator thinking and low training. Generally the millitary trains with rifles, not as much with handguns.
@Comegetsum2011 False eh? Well then if I were you, I'd take a look a couple pages back, where officer related shootings were being discussed, where the .45 in question blew a perpetrator's foot completely off... severed it clean.
What in the world are you rambling on about? You copied and paste false information. Talking about blowing limbs off and knocking people backwards? It's not even worth a debate!
@Comegetsum2011 SHOT PLACEMENT: Well not really, at least not how you're thinking. When they say shot placement it doesn't mean shoot them in the heart and they drop instantly like on TV. The only place that will drop an opponent instantly is in the spinal cord or head. Anywhere else and it depends on how long it takes them to bleed out. They bleed out faster by shooting them in the heart, but its still not instant and they can keep going depending on other factors... (more).
Stopping power is achieved through several different ways....
1. IMPACT: The impact of the bullet weight hits with enough force to knock the opponent back... or down. Generally this is large caliber bullets like .45 caliber.
2. DISPLACEMENT: Removing large chunks of the body that literally physically prevent the opponent from being able to harm you. (aka blowing body parts off), again this is accomplished with Large caliber handguns.
3. SYSTEM SHOCK a projectile punches through so hard and fast it literally shocks the body into submission. This is where the 9mm +P+ hollowpoints and the .357 magnum achieve major stopping power at around 1300 fps or higher. This is what turns the 9mm from squirrel gun into manstopper, but requires the kind of ammunition the millitary can't use. Otherwise.. you need a head shot or spinal column shot to drop a determined opponent instantly.--- This is what shot placement really means.
I hate to say it gunny but I disagree and I'm sure many other people do! Shot placement is key. That 9mm will stop an assailant with a vital area shot as well as a 45 would....
.44 Magnum! That is my next one. More ammo options. And, most excellent stopping power. A.44 Redhawk or Super Redhawk. .454 Super Redhawk Alaskan is excellent also, but does punish the hand a bit to much for practical purposes. Plus expensive to shoot.
