The late great Ray Hanna putting OFMC's Hawker Fury through its routine at North Weald circa 1991. The Maestro's routine is typically flawless and made to look so easy, several loops have very little altitude at the bottom. Great aeroplane, great pilot.

  • North Weald at the Northern end was always a great position, as you say no comentary, nothing! Not sure there is anyone in UK could fly a Fury like this and at such heights....oh don't for get the trees too!

  • The aircraft is now back in Australia and has recently been re-painted.

  • what happend to this aircraft after it was sold to a buyer in south africa?

  • Classic Hanna display with his trademark arrival and a wing waggle at the end, superb. Great video, great sound and a bright day at North Weald too ! something of a rarity.

  • Just perfect! The plane, the pilot. Excellent. An outstandingly fine display at a wonderful event: No tedious music in the background, no permanently maundering presenter. Pure enjoyment. Thanks for sharing!

  • Yes the sound!

The Centaurus does not have the crackle of a Merlin but in its own deep muffled sleeve valve way it sounds wonderfully powerful, which indeed it is.

  • Magnificent sound!

  • the king

  • The most powerful single-prop plane EVER!

  • "floorless", lol.

    Great footage, what a plane!
