  • @indianguy51

Thank you, I am glad that you appreciate the goal of this post. You are great in my book.

  • Is it ok if i make this a engine sound for 18 Wheels of steel haulin ?

  • Wow, that engine has such a sweet roar to it...too bad there's an idiot starting it!

  • That was the first start up of the engine, we were cycling the key to get fuel to it.

  • @Mysterio2276 not in to it hold it over the air inlet ,it works if the engin is in good shape it hey are wore real bad they can suck oil past the ringsadn may even run away , a pice of 3/4 inch ply wood works the best

  • @indianguy51 - I've also heard that throwing a phone book into the turbo will choke it out as well... Does this really work?

  • Great video! I would say that the instructor knew what he was doing. I would do the same thing in small increments too considering Detroits are famous for Runaways when the fuel system isnt fully purged of trapped air. Great job!

  • In about 30 minutes, i am going to go try and start my 8v71. Had its batteries on a trickle charger overnight. its been 5 months. dipstick shows a 3/4 of an inch past the full point. Wish me luck...I have no idea what i am doing.

  • @indianguy51 Never heard of the axe to the fuel lines, but we would always have a small piece of plywood on hand to cover up the air intake in case one started to run away.

Hated working on Dogtroits as a youngster, now I look back fondly with nostalgia. Good times.

  • 0:45 listen to the detroit bark!!!! a true genuine green genade!!!!!!
