Organized and called by Susan Michaels and Frannie Marr with Perpetual eMotion playing.
What a thumping good time!
This was a unique dance experience for the Los Angeles contra dance community, with electronic music. I was able to bring in moving lights a haze machine and black lights. Peaches from the tech theatre program at Citrus helped set up all the lighting and ran the movers with a spectacular effect on the dance. Victor's close attention to the sound filled the room with Perpetual eMotion's electronic and looping take on the world of traditional music complete with thumping sub woofers driving that foot rhythm through the crowd.
What a fun night of dancing! The advanced publicity and word of mouth brought out dancers I hadn't seen in a very long time, and people from throughout the region. By the break, the room was fuller than I had ever seen.
I hope the video, taken by Jocelyn, gives you the feel of what it was like at the War Memorial last night.
Enjoy!
