Dr. Saree Makdisi advocates a One State solution for the Palestinians. He spoke at the Palestine Center. Dr. Makdisi is a distinguished author, U. of California professor and a frequent contriburtor on the Israeli-Palestine conflict.

@avivai6 The diversity proves that muslims have been very tolerant. The Christian crusaders ruled for less than two centuries in Palestine, after which there were no jews left there. The muslims reconquered it and the jewish presence rose instantly. The same goes for Spain, where jews had an active role in Islamic society for over 800 years. Then the Christians reconquered Andalusa and the jews where instantly expelled, the Muslims were either forced to convert or expelled a 150 years later.

@avivai6 Early muslim civilizations were not liberal societies, you shouldnt compare them to modern societies. But compared to earlier Western societies, Islam has been very kind and protective of non-muslims. Simply look at the diversity in modern Muslim countries and compare it to the dicǘersity in the West, where non-Christian groups have always been absent. Where the jews were annihalated. Then look at muslim countries, with the jews, Christians and different sects living side by side.

@shnoepie1 until you can show me scientific proof that you have examined my DNA and can prove that i am not genetically related to the jewish nation you have no authority to claim that the chosen jews have nothing to do with me. you obviously just ignore the posts i gave above citing studies showing that ashkenazi and sepharidi jews are more closely related to each other GENETICALLY than to the gentiles they live among. you can ignore facts, but you can't change them.

Yet, as French authority Jacques Ellul has observed: "One must ask: 'protected from whom?' When this 'stranger' lives in Islamic countries, the answer can only be: from the Muslims themselves."  the jews & christians had very few rights under muslim rule.

Jews were generally viewed with contempt by their Muslim neighbors; peaceful coexistence between the two groups involved the subordination and degradation of the Jews. the koran says trees and rocks will say: "Oh Muslim, Oh servant of God, here is a Jew hiding behind me. Come here and kill him."

"They [the Children of Israel] were consigned to humiliation and wretchedness. @avivai6 Jews have had rights in muslim countries, like they never had in the West. Ofcourse there were incidents, but on a whole jews had a relatively large freedom. Almost all Caliphs and sultans made sure to protect the jews from harm, because it was WRITTEN IN THE KORAN THAT THEY SHOULD DO SO. The Ancient Babylonian Semites opressed the jews, the Romans expelled and opressed them, so did the Byzantines, the Franks and ofcourse Christians.
