Some miniature games less than 15mm could benefit from this, since terrain can be smaller. Unless you can put a small led on top the vehicles and a led on infantry squads, not single minis.

@CaptCamping Well, it was mostly designed for "virtual" tokens to be used for RPG's as opposed to mini wargaming. There wouldn't be an easy way to keep track of movement unless you used an "all digital" army. That would definitely work. :-)

The miniature you are using must have an ir led on top, the problem will be applying the ir led to a normal miniature. If you have an army like Warhammer 40k or Fantasy is going to be hell of a job.

@CaptCamping I made an "IR Miniature" that is used as a pointing device to move the virtual miniatures around on the screen. There are no actual minis used at all. Due to the size of the LCD TV screen, it would not be realistic to use for mini wargames like 40K or Warhammer Fantasy since the dimensions are only 37" diagonal. Most mini wargames take up the entire surface of the table. ;-)
