This is a non-motorized probe that indexes automatically using the motion of the cmm. The pole on the left engages a lever to lock/un-lock the probe and also fits into a small cup at the rear to rotate the probe. This is about 1/3 the cost of a motorized probe head. RTP stands for "'Round The Pole"
