I helped build the Healy, My friend Tim died during the construction, he was a really fine welder and a great guy. That launch was a hoot, they made us yardbirds stand back so that the VIP's could get the best view, they got all muddy while we laughed. It threw up water, mud and driftwood all over them, some fell down, one "dignitary" even got a broken leg!
Incorrect claim as the largest non-nuclear ice breaker ever built. Admiral Makarov and Krasin, both built in the mid-70s', are considerably bigger.

Valve Corporation has a thing for the Healy and the Polar Star because of their uses in their video game, Half-Life 2. They are huge plot elements.
