TurtleMan of Watamu

I fimed this Green turtle in Watamu, Kenya. Got her on the third dive. This sequence is part of a doccie I filmed there. The doccie, called The turtleman of Watamu, follows Kahindi Changawa Galo, a 27 year old Kenyan, who started as a housekeeper at the Local Ocean Trust when his father retired from the job. Fascinated by the turtle protection and marine conservation work of the Trust, he began working with the local fishermen by persuading them to bring turtles that were accidentally caught in their nets to the Trust, rather than slaughtering them or selling their shells to tourists. Very soon the Trust recognised his skills and the influence he held over the local community, and so he became part of the Turtle Watch Team.
