This is actually an edited version of the full trailer, which opens with "Mr. Schaffer" screening the preview and demanding to know how a single film can be hilarious, romantic, exciting, etc., all at the same time. He goes wandering around the Fox backlot, where he encounters stars such as Rex Harrison, Anne Baxter, and teenaged Peggy Ann Garner (who is the first one to actually use the term "groovy"), before returning to his screening room where it picks up with the stuff seen here.
this is one of my favorite films ever. i can watch this over and over. i was so bummed that it didn't come on much last year, but man in 2006, i watched it over and over and over on tmc. love it so much.
You'll Love "Miracle on 34th Street"! I certainly do... one of the best pictures out there. Now i'm going to watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' which also looks good.
It was released in the summer, because, according to the studio head, more people go to the movies in the summer. They had to come up with something different for advertising while hiding that it was a Christmas movie.
there was a scene in this movie where actress Lela Bliss in intoxocated on a couch answerin a phone saying Helloooooo with the receiver upside down.......... any pointers on where I might find it?
Ya! I started hearing "groovey" around 1967. It is amazing to hear it in this trailer from I guess 1947. Seems like a daring departure from the trailers of the time. One of my favorite Christmas movies; if not my favorite.
