UKIP Nigel Farage MEP - Full face burka is oppresive to women and a symbol of divided society

UK Independence Party Nigel Farage talks about the the parties policy of banning the full face burka in public places on BBC politics show. He states that is is not only a security risk, but also the fact it is a symbol of oppression and a society not at easy with itself.

Why are'nt the women who wear burkhas being asked about how they feel about it ?

The woman I see in this video seems to be quite happy with her life. Why should some politician meddle with her right to wear what she wants ?

For goodness sake, in many neighborhoods in England, like in lost of other places all over Europe, non-Muslim women (as well as Muslim ones) have to wear veils, whether they like to or not, so that they won't be raped or killed.

So much for freedom to wear or not to wear it.

Also, I remember how even 10 years ago the same Islam-pushers claimed that the veil is not in the Koran, just an Arab custom, and being Muslim doesn't mean wearing the veil. And now...

The burqa was and is used in arabic countries where women are all the time threatened to be raped. In a backward society like the arabic,in general poor and intelectualy still in the Middle Ages, women walk under the anxious eyes of arabic bestial men who rape them with the eyes.

That´s why they use Burqas. But in the civilizted world, where women have the same rights as men (or more) the use of Burqas must be forbidden. I´s use is an insult to us. We don´t rape any woman in the streets.

The burqa is humiliating.!!!...women are in a perpetual prison..!!...suffering and feeling in their persons the fanatism, cruelty and disdain of musslim men against their own wives..the mother of their own children.!!!

Of course there are musslim women who say they enjoy wearing burqas......these women say that for one o several of these reasons:

1) they are fat and ugly.

2) they feel threatened by their musslim family or comunity.

3) they enjoy degrading their own personality.(masoquism)
