Pretty short but the fists n' feet are still flying in this 1980 TV teaser for "Kill or Be Killed", the entertaining martial arts adventure movie starring James Ryan (and followed the next year by "Kill and Kill Again"). Despite being dubbed as "the greatest Hollywood martial arts movie ever made!" the film was actually from South Africa, so they deserve the recognition for that.

  • i saw both movies! met james ryan when he came to bklyn in 1980 promoting the first movie. still have the autographed 8x10. he was ok for a non-martial artist. he co-starred with mark dacascos a few years ago and was still in fighting shape.

  • The two films are still fun to watch, and Ryan was a far more charismatic actor than most all of his North American martial arts movie contemporaries. The company had plans for a third film but they fell through when Film Ventures went toes-up.

  • I saw this in the theater way back in 1980. Shame it's not on dvd.

  • the greatest MA movie ever made..LOL um i guess they didnt see enter the dragon

  • This was a pretty good movie back in 1980, I remember seeing it when I was young. But compared to the movies that followed years later, it seem chessey now. I still like it, but I have to put it in the Black Belt Jones category for chessey. No disrepect to Jim Kelly I repect Jim Kelly, but the 70s' & 80s' had some crazy marital arts movies. Even watching Van Damn in BloodSport now seems chessey now.

  • a kung fu movie with no asians...

  • @robatsea2009 Roger Ebert was impressed with James Ryan...he even said that he felt Ryan had 'a lot of style and charisma, and could be the new Bruce Lee."...true fact..

  • I would kill (or be killed) to see this film!

  • One of the best martial arts films since Enter The Dragon, dont know if its available on dvd though.

  • Hey there, this is Shan, I am James Ryan's son. I was wondering where you got this from and if there is any way to get a copy?

    Thank much.
