A recreation of the very early 1958 video game, "Tennis For Two," built by the crew at FamiLAB.org, Orlando's Hackerspace.

This recreation is not based on the original components, but rather controlled by an Atmel Microcontroller. Windell Oskay of Evilmadscientist.com deserves the credit for the circuit and source code used to recreate this classic game. The purpose of recreating this is to demonstrate early video games at the Orange County (Florida) History Center on Saturday, July 16th.

  • Cool

  • @jeriellsworth Thanks!, I'd like to recreate the game with relays and other analog components, but this version is a simple microcontroller design. It's going to be presented at an exhibit at the Orlando History Center. Hopefully it will entice questions, and we could inspire kids to learn about early electronics. :)

  • @jeriellsworth - This will be demonstrated at the Orange County (Florida) History Center's "Retro Arcade" on Saturday, July 16th - we will also be letting visitors play original Nintendo, Atari, and Commodore systems - as well as a Commodore 64 in a joystick - I think you might have seen one of those ;>)

  • @bcforn64 - great work man, you really knocked this out in a very short time. I'm really glad you & f00bard got the old analog scope working too, its a great setup. I bet the visitors to the '"Retro Arcade" will love it.
