Budgies don't have to nest. But without a nest they wont mate.

@TheSlin2011 the wings are clipped to prevent the parakeet from flying long distances. The keet can still fly but not as far.

@mrA991s just don't put in a breeding box/nest. if you have a male and a female,they will still bond and preen but they won't ever lay eggs if they don't have a place to put them. :) please check out my videos! expertvillage is completely wrong!!!

my parakeet loves his nest. Its not wooden, it looks like that enclosed one he showed 2nd. I put it in at night when its time for him to sleep and take it out in the morning so he doesnt stay in it all day and be lazy and so he can get a decent amount of exercise :)
