The green stalks of Vidalia onions sit on top of the cold South Georgia dirt. County agent Cliff Riner has been in fields across Tattnall County this week, checking the plants for frostbite.

The biggest concern with onions is not that it gets down to freezing, but how long it takes to thaw out. Dal Cannady reports.
