During a Law of Attraction workshop, Abraham - translated by Esther Hicks - responded to a father who was uncertain about how he should answer his daughter's question - "Daddy, is there a Devil?". In doing so, Abraham draws a surprising parallel between Satan and another bigger-than-life childhood figure, Santa Claus.

Recorded on April 18, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas.

For nearly 25 years Esther & Jerry Hicks have produced books, audio recordings and videos based on the Teachings of Abraham, and their latest book, entitled "The Vortex", is currently on the New York Times bestseller list.

Esther explains that when she speaks for Abraham, she is interpreting blocks of thought from Non-Physical Source Energy - which she also sometimes identifies as her "Soul". Esther doesn't use the word "channeling" to describe her process, since she is not in a trance and is not hearing a voice in her head. Rather, she has trained herself to verbally interpret the same unerring Inner Guidance that is available to all of us.

  • "Tell her yes. Man made it up." That's all I needed to hear. I clare that did it for me in this whole video. I felt like I didn't need to watch the rest of the video after that statement. :)

  • I love you abraham.. The character that christians came up with is a stolen character from the greek religion. Satan was taken from the Greek god Pan a half goat half man character that played the flute. Is guess christians took the flute away and put a pitch folk in this cartoon character's hand. Their is nothing negative in the universe their is only being in line with your true self (happines abundance and love) or being out of line with your true self which causes you to be cut off.

  • There they go.... having a pop a Santa again. One of these days he's not going to turn up at Christmas then where will we be!! eh!

  • I love this!

    The fairies of the universe:-)

  • Loving all Abraham words! this lesson is so beautiful!!! I'll teach this to my children when I have them!

  • When my mom explained Satan to me...my first reaction was, doesn't God love him too?

  • wow, this is so great because, it is so opposite of what most parents do with well intentions but, sets their kids up for failure and this actually would set kids up for what most parents actually want for their kids; success!! LOVE IT!!

  • When my daughter asked me if Santa was real, I replied with, "What do you think?" She replied with,"I believe in Santa but don't think he comes down the chimney or flies around in a sleigh, that's just stupid. I think your Santa daddy and that God uses you to bring me gifts to make me happy." I was so shocked at the answer... Out of the mouths of babes...

  • Any child raised like that is the luckiest person in the world.

  • very well put and explained.
