Inept Reviews: Aliens (UK)

Let's rock! Time to review possibly the spookiest game on the ZX Spectrum: Aliens. It's a first person perspective shooter based on the classic Sci-fi action movie.

Hard as hell, very atmospheric and guaranteed to get your bowels moving. So without further ado, on with the review.

Great game, when I was 7 the sound in this really felt atmospheric (certainly was for the time).

The review, and the reviewer's voice particularly - are awful. A few tips for the guy before he does others...

1. Read character's names - who's Goram? It's Gorman.

2. Slating the sound/graphics/anything except the gameplay in that era is questionable. It was good for it's time, leave it alone - if you'd rather review modern games, it might be more your forte.

Hello number one critic! These reviews are not meant to be taken seriously. They're just a bit of harmless nostalgia done to relive some of the days of my youth. And I can question graphics, sound etc because the ZX Spectrum was the computer I grew up with. I've played hundreds of Spectrum games over the years so it's not difficult to compare the merits of one Speccy game with another. If I were comparing it to an XBOX game you'd have a point.

i had this game, all my people just kept running out of ammo, once this happned i was fucked.  What are you supposed to do at the "smart gun sights"?

in the instructions it says you can pickup weapons at the smart gun sights but that was a load of bollocks because you could not.

If you look in my video, Vasquez is in the armoury - her ammo goes up to the max when you reach the room. Unfortunately there's only one armoury and it's not far into the complex which is unfair. Means you need to send your troops back and forth, or keep them all together and use ammo sparingly. I die long before that though!

This game terrified me as a kid. I could never get past the armoury either, despite having the map. :P

You know, this game was remade for the PC.

Its called LV-426

Look up a youtube search on "LV-426 - Aliens Remake"...it sure startles the crap out of you...Oh, and Ripley gets owned by a Bitch-queen Alien.
