Two Lines is the opening song from the Lightships album 'Electric Cables' which will be released on Geographic on the 2nd April 2012.

Lightships if the new project from Gerard Love of Teenage Fanclub.

Electric Cables is an album of tender, observational songs, played with an invigorating and easy sense of purpose; the sound of friends enjoying one another's company and allowing ideas and experiments to flourish. It's a complex and rewarding record that you'll want to keep coming back to. Slow illumination.

I don't think it's necessary for music to be 'risky' or groundbreaking or even political. This beautiful song succeeds on its own terms.

Is twee a negative term then? I always thought it just meant cool and carefree. Why do people always feel the need to put labels on things anyway! Nothing more 'boring' and 'translucent' than the same old terms people pull out of their lexicons to describe music. Here's a label for you: yawn :P

Gorgeous and bathetic. Watching with my four-year-old daughter who is doing 'ballet' along and has decided she loves it. Getting the new fans in young! ;) Keep up the amazing work Gerry, always great to hear ya!

How can one of Kurt Cobain's greatest influences be described as twee?
