In my first video I demonstrate how I built the super secret entrance to my underground base using pistons.

Sorry for all the mouse and keyboard clicking, probs need to get a less sensitive mic. Also I forgot to mention all of the pistons I used are of the sticky variety ;p

The map can be downloaded here:

I have made a much more indepth tutorial on building your own hatch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrFkpBrNjRI

  • what are u using to record?

  • @gangstafish2000 For PC games I use FRAPS. To get the best result I record to a second hard drive. For console games I use a hauppauge gaming edition pvr. Finally I edit and render in Sony Vegas :)

  • Do you have more of a step by step? I'm having trouble running the wire to the lower level.

  • @bones10145 Sure thing, take a look at my other videos, I did a three part in depth build of this where I take lots of time over it and lay it out in a much neater way :)

  • im gona try making 1 my self but modding it a bit so the floor level of dird gets replaced with stairs to.

  • @louwn Good luck with that. I couldn't figure it out as that area has no room for more pistons due to the other workings of the hatch.

Take a look at the hatch z0d14cm45t3r made in response to mine. It looks like he uses the falling property of sand to make what you want but it would have to have a sand or gravel cover, if you want any other material I don't think it is possible.

If you do figure it out PLEASE share it with me, I'd love to know a way to make it work with dirt :D

thanks mate it took many, MANY above ground prototypes to get it working.

But your idea to delay the circuit could be implemented in my circuit to make it less complicated, and more understandable.
