You must be able to re-tie straw bales in order to successfully build a straw bale house. In this 2 part video I show you exactly how to do this with a new knot that I am using on all my straw bale homes and a pair of high quality stainless steel straw bale needles. You can get the designs for these needles at http://www.LearnStrawBale.com

  • Miller's KNot or Butcher's Knot is what I was told. I've heard other names as well.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this and other comments on my videos. Honestly, it's a bit hard for me to keep track of all the comments. Please feel free to contact me directly through my blog at the web address above (It won't let me write the address in teh comments). I'll get back to you much faster if you use that route!

  • @hahelmy

    I think he said a "Miller's Knot".

  • think of the bails like bricks. when you come to an end or a butt joint you will sometimes have to cut the bail so it will fit in an available space.

  • what kind of knot was that ? its name ?

  • Are you required to do this or can you just use the bails as they are?

  • Something in my brain makes it close to impossible to learn and remember knots. However, I figured out this one, thanks to your clear explanation!

  • AMAZING you make it look so easy, thankyou very much for posting, very clear and precise instructions brillient!!
