He is reffering to the fact that Reagan was the most protectionist post-war president. Search "Chomsky free markets" and you can hear his analysis in depth.

Man I really think Chomsky is reaching in his comments here about taxes. Over half of tax money goes to finance war! So it's worse than an alien force taking your money, it's a force taking your money and using it to kill people to make more money. Also all the money to the banks, to subsidize corporations, for police to protect the elite's wealth, etc. Maybe in a 'real democracy' taxes would still exist and be benevolent but I think they should be almost non-existent for everyone but the rich

People seem to confuse business with freedom. If everyone is business oriented how will we create a true economic equality? Many people think that a system based on a merchant class can work if they are ethical, but I think a economy that requires business people to function is essentially based in a classicism anyway.

Chomsky acts like taxes aren't mandatory like we have a choice to pay them or not.

The propaganda is to trick US into being afraid of another 9/11 while spending billions on killing people instead of saving lives. Just like during the Vietnam war tax dollars are being sucked away for overseas adventures/massacres.

I have to acknowledge that The government and business are so intertwined already...so people who hate government and love business don't they know that business is government in many ways..I think people who are libertarian etc don't really care about government they are just afraid that someone will interfere just in case they get rich, even though the wealth/power has in the past and continues to be distributed unfairly.
