  • thank you so much, i am 16 and have been dancing for about 8 months now i am planning on dancing a viennese waltz for the first time at a party this friday, i had a private lesson of it and 1 month of group classes and this has been a great reminder

Thank you for watching and your comment. I wish you the best in your dancing.

  • Would it be predetermined by the dancing crowd whether a right turn or left turn is used or does it depend on the music used?

  • The use of right & left turns is not determined by the music. However, most dancers will do 7 or 8 bars of one turn, do a 1 bar change, then switch to 7 or 8 bars of the other turn. This will keep the dancing in phrase with the music. Other factors also come into play. For example, it is easier to dance right turn around the corners and short side of the room. Furthermore, If the room is crowed, dancers may use the change step to switch turns & avoid traffic.

  • This is excellent instructions. You don't know how much help you are giving to several people who are socially obligated to learn Viennese waltz. Thank you.

  • Thanks a lot for the reply Andy. Sounds like an intricate dance, I've got some studying to do!

  • I have watched all your videos, they are very clear and easy to follow, and they also help me to catch up with my dancing classes. Thanks a lot. Stella from Hong Kong
