I'm from Grand Island, if you're ever in teh area let me know, I know of a pond you guys can catch big gills in, supposed to be decent sized crappie, I know all the bass are big because of the size limit.

My favorite combo is a jig-a-whopper rod with a Cetus spinning reel. It's like fishing for em with a wet spaghetti noodle with one of the smoothest reels I have ever used. And don't forget the spring bobber!! :-)
