Vicky leaves Bay City, part 1 (Anne Heche's final episodes)

"As her four-year stint on AW came to a close, it was understandably with sadness that viewers watched the final scenes that this talented lady would perform.
Although we can never know exactly what was going through Anne Heche's mind when she played out her final scenes, it was obvious to all that the tears she shed were real. But we don't feel sadness for Anne as she moves on to different acting experiences with a 1991 Daytime Emmy tucked under her belt. What we feel is lucky -- for having had the chance to watch as this talented lady left her mark on daytime."

Because the show knew they would take a major hit by Anne leaving & they weren't sure if bringing in another actress would work - depending on how the audience responded, they might have killed off the Vicky character & left Marley in Switzerland...it was all touch & go. But the final scenes between Anne & the rest of the cast were not acting, they were all that genunily upset that she was going.

Vicky left to go to Switzerland & be with Marley. They had some medical tests done to see why Vicky could have a baby & Marley couldn't. The break was used to write Anne Heche out of the show & bring Jensen in...Anne chose to leave to pursue film roles.

I was so sad at the age of 17 when she left the show, as I loved Anne Heche as Vicky and Marley, particularly Vicky, because I absolutely loved Ryan and Vicky together. I liked Jensen, but that's when the whole Grant debacle started. I just always wanted Ryan and Vicky together.

I get why Anne left in real life and the break was used to phase her out and bring in Jensen, but why were the characters acting as if she (Vicky) wasn't coming back when it was clear she was?

I wasn't watching the show at the time so forgive my ignorance. Why was Vicky leaving Bay City? Everyone seemed to think she'd be gone forever, only she'd be back again in a matter of weeks with a new portrayer in Jensen Buchanan. What gives?

They were the greatest daytime couple ever - chemistry, humor, passion. Any more postings on them? So many scenes I vaguely remember from when the first started out. If anyone has them, please post
