What an awesome experience! I would love to go down there, but sadly I am short of money and don't even live in the California area. I think you should save up for it. Meet new people, learn something new, etc. Cheers!

Maybe you could get a job at Subway or something to help raise money. The reason I say Subway is because its so easy you could do it in your sleep.
