when i said, "you have to use starter pokemon", i forgot that i had amulet coin on my empoleon. to get amulet coin, go to hearthome city, and go to place where you walk pokemon and bring one of the required pokemon. now search through the funny looking houses for the amulet coin, usually you can walk 2 squares inside the house, but the one with the amulet coin has only one square you can walk on. just press A to pick it up.

Ummm i get 1200 with the ladie and 6200 with the gentlemen jermey and i am using toterra

it's probably because your pokemon are a lower level than 40. get them up to level 40, and after a couple of battles with the gentleman and socialite, their pokemon will turn to lvl 40 all of a sudden. that will make your reward 16000 from then on. good luck!
