Bala Falls drownings

Two non-swimmers drowned while trying to save a 9-year old relative who was sucked out into the river by the undertow of the rapids. This is a dangerous place to take children to play. With Climate Change: cool, wet July weather, the waters are fast and high. There has been little evaporation, compared to previous years. There is much danger. On Friday a man drowned when thrown out of a boat after hitting a rough wave. On Sunday 3 more drowned on Moon River Falls. Today, two more were taken away in ambulances after swimming in Bala Falls.

We are so very sorry for the family's loss. The crews worked very, very hard to save them. They felt so badly that they could not be save. You need to know that. The problem is the undertow, where water swirls around and drags people under. There is so much speed and power in the water, but hidden from view.

You are right I talked to my cousin (Barad Bhais wife) and she told me that rescue team did best to get them out alive, but it was unlucky, we all are very sad. We can understand that how painful is this to lose your love ones.

Thank you for giving us glimpse of that area which some how some relief. We wish we could do some thing. Lots of prayers and God bless you all.
