http://www.journeyfilms.com - Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a young German theologian who offered one of the first clear voices of resistance to Adolf Hitler. Bonhoeffer openly challenged his church to stand with the Jews in their time of need and eventually joined a plot to kill Hitler.
@Phyllislechat : The religion he condemns, is “Dead” religion,” religion that tries to do without God’s grace.

Extraordinary individual. Well done documentary. Bonhoeffer's later conclusion while imprisoned that religion is no longer a relevent concept in this world, that perhaps people calling themselves "christian" no longer employ religious thinking bears further study; I have ordered copies of his" letters and writings from prison" and his" most important writings" to read. His life has reinforced my experience that the world is populated largely by religious lemmings rather than true Christians.

wow..powerful concept! That God does not intend us be merely many individuals who happen to be Christian, but that we instead develop a Zionic community with each other as human beings. How can this be accompished? Through the gospel of Jesus Christ and His church as a "means" towards that end. It's so vital to remember this key point. Thanks again for the inspiration...

I cannot remember who said it, but they said it rightly when they called Bonhoeffer one of the the first post-Christian theologians.

@jungian9111 Jungian being in the community is not easy however without community there is no Christ, no grace, no forgiveness.
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." I wish you peace.

@CronusPrime A new humanity...its coming.. Its sad that the community has lost its meaning. The future for the community holds the wondrous mercy that was intended all along...
Thank you CronusPrime..and also for the Paul Tillach song, it touched me in ways that most can't.
