  • @mdrndrum geopolitics... it's all about the resources and you can't just take resources from others without force...

  • In Capitalism, the control of the government goes so deep, that it is too easy to interpret it as peaceful.

  • Another of my reflections to this is that the society educates and socialized journalists to be biased and untruthful. They are just doing what they have been told what a real professional journalist do, where they are employed, what is the command structure of their superiors and how social and political issues should be interpreted. The government controls the media through this seemingly normal process, but which is based on lifetime of social exclusion and authoritarianism.

  • 0:54 In Capitalism, the press is totally free of government coercion, but the government doesn't allow any other forms of journalism.

  • @rmccay88

I think you are missing his point. The government doesn't coerce the media but the media, mostly owned by corporations, control the government. Hence, media by themselves coerce what they put out to the general public to make our government less vile. Do you see the correlation?

  • @mdrndrum Very valuable land! Plus, greater ease in installing a government that they can do nice business with, & less people to deal with & control after their gov is installed, etc....

(And truthfully, I dont think it isnt even necessarily about 'gains' altogether.. As much as its a simple matter of not caring about the masses of people, especially third world or 'non-white' people. - Its sad, & as an American I am not proud or supporter of it.. But its basically the truth.)

  • @sullaofroma They dared to exist, AND in an area that we have interest in.. AND to own weapons of mass destruction in that area (so we cant jst boot em out like we usually do). -- When we want something (like an area of land) then we get it.. And only WE can own those type of weapons.

Basically, Iran has refused to acquiesce to our insolent whims & demands.. And that = Evil. Geesh, u think it'd be obvious!

(There was MUCH sarcasm in all of that.. If it wasnt clear.) ;)

  • Chomsky is wrong in what he says 00:40-1:03

Look up Operation Mockingbird or read Carl Bernsteins book "The CIA and the Media" if you do not think that the government "coerces the media."

  • @dargay He speaks a little. Not fluent but understands a few things. He is fluent in Yiddish or Hebrew i know. But not in Arabic.

  • This is why America is getting stupider and stupider. This is why we are the joke of the world. Why do we never see guys like Chomsky on American television? Why must we turn to the internet to see this stuff? They're trying to turn us into mindless zombies.
