Aled Jones presents The Great Music Show, a new five-part series which offers a gentle and light-hearted introduction to popular classical music. Focusing on one piece of music in each programme, Aled explains the background to the music, looks at the lives of the composer and tells the real story behind the work of art.
In this programme, which was transmitted on the 8th Feb 2006, Aled ventures into the heart of the Forest of Dean. He searches for the spirit that inspired Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, a work described as a musical day-trip to the country. Aled encounters everything from babbling brooks to a thrilling storm, and even finds time to nip into a village pub.
This is produced solely to promote Aled and his music.
