In 1865 there were 23 million people in the country. Roughly 6% owned slaves. The immigration of German, Italian, Scottish and Irish after 1865 included we can deduce that only 1 in over 100 white people are descendants of slave owners. This is an extremely conservative number.
On the other hand 1/3 of black Americans are descendants of slave owners.
I know for a fact none of my ancestors were white slave owners, How about you?
