Naughty Jack, blues / folk dobro player, singing Work

Naughty Jack ( http://www.naughtyjack.com ) plays his song Work, taken from his album Good Times. He is playing a dobro, which is a type of acoustic steel guitar that sits on his lap played with a "steel". The instrument sounds similar to slide guitar and is mainly used in bluegrass, hawaiian music and blues.

Can I ask you when you learned the dobro did you do it by ear or professional lessons.

I haven't had lessons, but there are a few good DVDs available. Quite a few teach the basics perfectly well, and once you've mastered that, get all the Bob Brozman DVDs and if you get through all those, you can be pretty proud of yourself. Jerry Douglas and Rob Ickes are better if you're mainly interested in bluegrass.

It's alot of fun.
