  • It's OK for a while but for a long run, nah. It' depends of your TV sizes, get a piece of 1x6x4' at Home Depot probably less than $4. Cut it down to at least 20" or slightly longer than your wall mount piece. By code, ea stud are 16" apart, find a stud with a (good) stud finder, voila, you get the picture right?

There' no way I'm going to mount my $1000 LCD tv to a wall, not a stud, regardless !!!

  • @icmac21 - thx for sharing & i agree somewhat but there was no studs above this fireplace & these snaptoogle bolts are rated over 200pds so if the tv weighs half that its fine but yes its more secure if you mount to 1 or 2 studs. i been doing this for living for over 8yrs & no issues. But i would NEVER HANG a tv on a "arm extended motion mount" in just drywall .

  • Hi! What brand and type of wire concealer did you use? Where did you get them? Thanks

  • @amanda40514 - called wire hider by premier or buy at hhgregg stores or bestbuy store wirecovers, my other tv install videos shows you more.

  • Good video man! Thanks for sharing!

  • @cris178Zune = lol true, but i meant using 200pd. heavy duty drywall ancors no need to find studs in wall & using wire covers there's no need to wall fish wires that causes more damage to the wall.

  • @acuna13 - i bought them at loews but sometimes it comes with some mounts

  • @Tampatec When u bolted the mount to the wall, Did you use the screws/bolts that came with the actual mount or the screws that came with the togglesnaps?

  • @Jerv6ix - motion mounts need studs cause when you extend 50pound tv the stress on the other end triples like when you use a lever or a jack to lift a car, this snaptoggles work for flat mounts best, so try to find a stud or check out my video- how to mount tv on recessed wall - that might help you too

  • Hi, I'm planning to install this wall mount : VideoSecu Articulating Arm TV Wall Mount for Most 22"-37" VESA 100x100 200x100 200x200 LCD LED TV Monitor Flat Panel Screen display, Full Motion Mount Bracket Loading up to 80 lbs ML525B A31

for a 42" LED TV of 40lbs. Will the toggle bolts work? Although I can get four screws in the wall (dry wall btw), it's going to be all in one line. Great video btw, really help full!

  • @acuna13 - read how much weight the box states 1/4" or 3/16" is good.

  • Disregard my last questions Paul, I see the snaptoggle comes in 1/4-20" and 3/16-24" and I found a similar cable concealer made by Omnimount.

Unfortunately in my area (Canada) I only have access to the 1/4-20" snaptoggle's. Would that be sufficient enough to use considering my LCD is only 32 inches?
