After hauling the pile of dead cash to Widow's Patch, Red learns from sheriff O'Grady that there's nothing he can pay Red, as the Ugly Gang is currently wreaking havoc in town. When Udo Kang shoots Red's dog, it pretty much seals the fate of the Ugly Gang.
Remember to buy the Revolver at the beginning of this chapter, as it's likely to be the gun you'll be using the most until you can buy the Widowmaker. With the upgrades you can get later, I think it's the 4th best pistol in the game.
This level isn't difficult at all, there's only more targets to shoot than before. Chicken and Hedgehog, the guys whose health bars appear on the top-right corner telling you that they're "story" enemies, are actually almost as weak as any of the other guys.
Keep an eye out for the riflemen on the balconies, they're pretty much the only annoyance.
Halfway through the level you get into one of Red Dead's best aspects for the first time: dueling. You can skip the training and just start shooting like I did, but here's a short description: the game tells you when you're entering a duel. Usually before drawing your gun, the game shows your enemy and you from different angles, but you can skip this by pressing X (on the ps2). When you see Red's gun, right hand and the enemy, the duel is about to begin. When the black bars start to disappear, pull down the right analog stick and when Red grabs his gun, push up on the right analog stick. If you push up too soon, Red doesn't grab his gun and instead points his fingers at the enemy (funny way to die).
When you have your weapon drawn, aim at the enemy and press R1 (on ps2) to lock your shots. Yellow locks do no damage, red locks do good damage and dark red locks do the most damage. When you have 6 locks OR you press R2 (on ps2) the game goes back to real-time and Red fires the gun.
You don't need 6 locks, but with these first duels it's more fun that way. Later on you HAVE TO settle for 2-3 good locks, or you get your ass shot up. Based on how much damage you do, the enemies fall down differently.
After the duel, "Gigolo" Hancock appears. If you don't kill him fast he goes back inside, and can then reappear from different doors and buildings while normal enemies also spawn from different locations.
The boss, "Ugly" Chris is nothing to be feared. When he lifts the sheriff shoot his head and keep shooting when he flinches.
Can you unlock whidows path (not dark) level?

@LilJames429
Nope. Check the health at 2:50. I just didn't take any substantial damage until then so it didn't visually go down.
