Popular LivinLaVidaLowCarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his adorable wife Christine bring up the rather frustrating subject of being "on the Atkins diet" in this episode.

Jimmy shares his frustration with those people who think they know how to do the low-carb diet when they've never even cracked open a single book about it. NEWSFLASH: It's not just meat, eggs, and cheese all day long people!

If you want to do the Atkins diet, then you need to read DR. ATKINS' NEW DIET REVOLUTION available on Amazon.com for a penny plus shipping. An excellent resource for finding the low-carb plan right for you is Dr. Jonny Bowden's LIVING THE LOW-CARB LIFE. Here's my review of that book:

At the end of this video, Jimmy announces a special SURPRISE giveaway to one lucky viewer who leaves a comment. You'll have to come back for Episode 10 to find out what the prize is and whether you were chosen as the winner or not. Be sure to get your comment in ASAP for your chance to win!

  • Why is induction so important?

  • @intune8781 Your body needs a period of acclimation to cutting out sugar/starch and you'll feel it. Induction is basically a detox from your carbohydrate addiction so you can make the switch from being a carb-burning metabolism to one that is fat-burning. Great question!

  • Thanks. I'll do that. And thanks again for your excellent informative and entertaining videos.

  • It's my pleasure!

  • I've tried several times to read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and it is very difficulty to read. While I appreciate his research, I don't need to know every detail. This time, I just read the instructions parts, and am going back for the science parts as I go through each stage. Your videos are far more helpful.

  • Check out ControlCarb dote come and read Dr. Jonny Bowden's Living The Low-Carb Life for an easier book to read about the low-carb lifestyle.

  • Excellent metaphor. Excellent message. Don't forget the books can be found at just about any public library - can't beat free!

  • He slipped and fell and went into a comma. Maybe you should check your facts. Unless the XD means that you are being sarcastic.

  • That's true amberview30. But you are a lot more likely to be successful if you do read DR. ATKINS' NEW DIET REVOLUTION, for example, than if you simply relied on what you "heard" about it. There's so misinformation floating around out there that you can't know who you can trust. Going back to the book will eliminate that worry. CONGRATS on your success!

  • I don't necessarily think you have to read the book to do the atkins diet, but you do have to do your research.Now-a-days you can get a lot of information from the internet, like your blog for example.I did it by the book, but I didn't read "his" books before starting. I had a mentor though. I do agree that most people should read the book, because its hard to know what's accurate.I did read the "Atkins for Life Book", but it was after I lost the weight.I'm one year with the 30 lbs gone.

  • THANKS for sharing, Andy. But that is not accurate information. The late great Dr. Robert C. Atkins experienced a slip and fall accident on some ice in New York and died from the injury to his head. He did not die from the Atkins diet.
