Peterborough, Ontario - March 13, 2009 - Over 60 community leaders attended the Greater Peterborough Innovation Clusters Second Annual Innovation Summit held at the Holiday Inn Peterborough Waterfront. The event brought together community business, institutional and academic leaders to explore the process of innovation and the steps to building a knowledge-based economy. Throughout the afternoon participants rotated through three concurrent workshops entitled: The Private Sector & Innovation, Educational Institutions Role in Innovation, and Public Support of Innovation. To finish off the day, a keynote address was made by guest speaker Erik Duijsens, Owner of Duijsens Project and Interim Management in the Netherlands (with an Ontario subsidiary coming soon). Eriks message tied in well with the workshops and overall theme of the day with his explanation of the innovation process and the need for clear concise definitions of what should be done by whom. www.innovationcluster.ca for more information.
