Gracias Bolivia! I wish more Americans would think through this problem, which is a 100% American problem. Why not treat drug addiction as a disease? Instead the narco-industrial complex wastes tax dollars on enforcement and eradication while our addicts enrich dealers who build mansions in Cochabamba. We have it all wrong.

Sure, most exports are to Europe and Brazil (at the moment) but the USA sets the tone of the "War on Drugs" which has been a massive failure. If the US changed course and started treating drug addiction as a disease and dropped the "war" other countries would follow suit. Violence would be greatly diminished at home and abroad and we'd have more resources to combat addiction at home. And by the way, it is "ignoramus" not what you wrote.

The main problem is still and will be the huge cocain consumtion in the U.S. If the U.S realy wants to get rid with the cocain, the U.S goverment has to focus on the consumtion becous as long as it exists a demand it will always exist cocain production in the poor countries.
