I'm not gonna say he's better than Portnoy, but calling him just a "kid" is a gross disservice.

@Slashlightyear Even though Mike's not with them anymore. After recording the album and touring with them they parted ways. I think their new drummer has it covered though based on the song they put out with Arin drumming.

In respect to all your views on the rev vs portnoy views. I had never heard of Avenged Sevenfold before i saw them last year. It was Mike's drumming that woke me up to the band and made me a fan. The Rev was the driving force behind that, so i salute both drummers for what is clearly an awesome live band. Without both drummers making that impact i'd never of taken the time to appreciate thier music. Without a doubt, they were amazing!

Notice how Mike Portnoy played some of the parts from when Rev played the DEMO version of this song? Love it, I'm glad I have seen A7X 3 times in concert.
