Hi: First off I’m not vegan. I am however overweight and the vegan dishes allow normal portions, healthier choices and fewer calories. I’m definitely trying the sausage. If you like the little link sausage the sporting goods section of Wal-Mart has sausage casings that as far as I know contain no animal products. That being said do you know how to make veggie dogs? I don’t miss the meat if I have sauerkraut and peppers.

Hi Keith. I haven't figured out the secret to making meatless hot dogs, but these sausages are pretty fantastic on a bun with all the fixins!

They are also low in fat and calories and super high in protein too. Let me know if you try them.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love veggie sausages... We decided to cut out as much meat from our diets due to our weight and now we love these and I am so happy to have found your recipe. I don't think so. In order for gluten to 'set' it requires water (gluten is actually the result of a reaction when gliadin and glutenin come in contact with water and are agitated). I cook these on the grill after I have steamed and refridgerated them... but I do belive the steam is necessary for the seitan to - become seitan so to speak.
