Polly- the newest love

Our Hahn's mini Macaw we just adopted. He's 12 years old, and naked due to feather plucking. He was bonded to another Hahn's years ago (they were a breeding pair), and the breeder for whatever ungodly reason decided to seperate them and sell them apart. Shortly after, Polly started plucking. I'm the 3rd home he's been in. He is such a sweetie despite everything he's been thru. I love him so much.

I looked, he's a Green Wing! Once birds start plucking due to stress, change, or depression, they will most likely never stop. Plucking can sometimes lead to self mutilation, so just watch out for that. As long as Berty isn't ripping his skin open, he should be fine. I would make sure the temp is a bit warmer in your house too because for naked birds, the cold is REALLY cold. I would also get a vet check up too.
