@killtheposers1 Pardon me, "shouting" as you called it. Regardless it wasn't shouting either.
-
@Bindlossclun Clearly you don't know the difference between screaming and singing because what he did sure wasn't screaming.
-
This is probably the most "unpolished" I've ever heard this song sung. how long have you been studying music JstTeri? He has so much raw emotion in this song and actually its not screamed, its chest belted, something most singers try hard but still cant do....please get your facts straight about what "Broadway singers need" to do or not do.

Saw this touring cast!! Great show!!

Everyone has their own opinion. I don't think Broadway singers need to always be polished. Roger is a former drug addict, which would roughen his voice, not polish it. I never said he wasn't emotional, just too polished a sound. I think we need to agree to disagree, HopeLovePeace1234

@JstTeri well duh. He is a broadway actor, his voice needs to be able to polished.I think His voice is beautful in this song, very emotional.
-
@Bindlossclun He doesn't shout it, he just pinches the note and sings it loudly.

@Bindlossclun he is my fave roger of them all. including the one i saw live. now at the same point he embodies Roger the best.

the most honest performance i have EVER seen in any musical theatre production. i cant comprehend how....
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. He shows so much more emotion in his singing, as some people have said. I actually started to feel like he was a real parson! The only thing I didn't like is that 'And then no need to endure any more' is shouted. I can understand why but I would have just sung it in an angry way? But it's still amazing.
I'm singing this for a competition tomorrow and I'm really nervous about that last bit! =O

One of the best versions I've ever heard, if not THE best.
