@Sumermagor That would be welding. Soldering doesn't melt the metal you are soldering on to. (Technically, it does, but only in very minute amounts)

@caupwhiting I should be air cooled. Annealing is softening metal by releasing stresses caused in the manufacturing process (Cold pressing etc.). It works be resettling the molecules or something like that. If you quench it, you put stress on it again. You ideally want it to cool as slow as possible. Quenching is used for hardening steel, by some other metallurgical process, and it requires the metal to be red hot.

you actually can solder a ring with its own material, thats what i do, you dont need flux for it,

Its op to how you put your piece of jewellery,

you have to bend it so the flame wont reflect from the metal, anyway im not a professional jeweller but im an artist soul,

i just got it it works great. i have a question on it if someone can helpme. when i use the soldering attachments is there supposedto be flame? mine glows red
