Rock's promos are essentially a product of their environment-when he has quality caliber wrestlers around him, his promos are great. When he has the garbage he has around him, they're going to suffer in quality. I do attribute a bit of that to promo rust, but I'd say this is the major factor in why Rock's current promos are good but nowhere near as good as they used to be.

Still, a Rock promo on YouTube is better than any Cena promo. lol

Well, you also have to consider, back then the Rock had people like Stone Cold, Booker T, Big Show, Kane, Chris Jericho, etc to make fun of in his promos, wrestlers who were larger than life…now you have the Yabba Dabba Bitch, Randy Orton, The Miz, etc…a bunch of lame wrestlers that are nothing to write home about. Even CM Punk, arguably the best promo cutter and most charismatic wrestler of his era, isn't really shoot-worthy.

This seems similar to his pre-Wrestlemania promo with the "just as sure". But he was much better here. Hope the Rock can shed off his promo-rust and be as good as he was here.
